Recording your gameplay

Starting to record your games is a great habit to begin your improvement journey.

1. The Benefits

The benefits of recording your games:

  • Quickly open and start reviewing straight after your match
  • See exactly what you were seeing from your perspective (clicks, camera control, information collection)
  • Allows you to share your VOD’s to WTL Coach and Mentor for review sessions in the program

2. Manual Recorder

These are extremely customizable from a settings perspective to ensure your PC can handle it. They are also ‘lightweight’ on the PC and don’t take up too much processing power.

The downside is that you have to manually click start and stop each time you start/finish a game, as well as requiring a robust media player. We recommend using PotPlayer as a media player since it’s just overall very solid and has no issues.

Our recommendation:

Streamlabs OBS

3. Auto Recorder

These apps automatically record your games whenever you enter a game.

They have inbuilt ‘replay’ functionality which highlights pivotal moments such as deaths and objectives.

Our recommendations:

  1. Insights.gg
  2. Medal.tv
  3. WTL Auto Recorder (our custom built recording software)

4. Live Streaming (VOD)

You can stream your games on Twitch or Youtube, where it will automatically save the VOD and you can view past broadcasts.
